Designed by well engineers, for well engineers, isol8’s pioneering technology exploits the benefits of alloy as a sealing technology in downhole well applications; Low melt point ‘bonded-alloy barriers’ (both non-expanding and expanding alloys such as bismuth tin BiSn) and thermite based exothermic heaters to generate radial heat and, in some instances, the thermite is used as a structural platform on which the alloy can form a seal.
isol8 have a full-scale test facility in Port Townsend USA, in which the team form, test and qualify barriers at simulated downhole pressures, temperatures and wellbore deviations.
