Ivoren Kruis Overview

Het Ivoren Kruis is de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Mondgezondheid. De vereniging is een begrip op het terrein van de bevordering van de mondgezondheid. In de eerste plaats voor haar leden, circa 3.000 tandartsen en mondhygiënisten. Daarnaast voor (andere) tandheelkundige zorgverleners, zorgaanbieders en -instellingen, opleidings- en onderwijsinstellingen, GGD en gemeenten, media, fabrikanten, zorgverzekeraars en het publiek. Het bevorderen van de mondgezondheid door middel van voorlichting is een belangrijke taak van het Ivoren Kruis. Het Ivoren Kruis geeft niet alleen voorlichting via patiëntenfolders, maar is ook actief in het onderwijs (projecten Gewoon Gaaf, Hou je mond gezond! en (h)Oud de mond gezond), de media en de politiek. Bovendien richt de vereniging zich op het stimuleren van wetenschappelijk onderzoek, beleid, communicatie en netwerken. Speerpunt van alle activiteiten is preventie, dé basis van de mondgezondheid.
