Wouldn’t ivy be the perfect symbol for the experience of patients in treatments for substance use disorders? Despite substance use recurrence, there was growth and regeneration. At that dinner table, the IVY (In Recovery) Lab was born.
Founded by Dr. Caitlin E. Martin, the IVY Lab is housed at Virginia Commonwealth University and focuses on supporting recovery across the life course, especially for women, people facing social determinants and other clinical comorbidities, and in pregnancy and the postpartum periods. With over > 100 publications and presentations, and countless mentees, the IVY Lab has been striving to serve patients and the next generation of substance use disorder providers and researchers since ***.
