A brief History:
J.A.M. Taylor resigned his position with Canadian Fairbanks Morse in March 1918 and founded J.A.M. Taylor Tool in Toronto, as a manufacturers’ agent for British and American tool companies. By 1941 the second generation had joined the business and expansion was needed. Taylor Tool purchased a factory located in Galt and began manufacturing taps for the growing Canadian industrial market and the war effort. Through continued growth and the addition of the third generation to the company, Taylor Tool decided to build a new facility in 1965. This remains our current location in Cambridge; and in 1981, we expanded once again to include the manufacture of round and hexagon threading dies.
In 1987, to better serve our growing customer base; Taylor Tool amalgamated the Head Office, warehouse and manufacturing facility under one roof in Cambridge. In the interim period we have expanded our tap, reamer and die capabilities as we continue to modernize our manufacturing plant.
