On January 1st, 2018, Flores Security was purchased by James W. Bowlin and his wife, Amy. The company was rebranded as J. Bowlin Security. The company continues to be founded on morals, ethics, and integrity, both to the profession and to the clients they serve and maintain.
The original company, Flores Security, was established in 2000 by Daniel Flores and his son, Danny. While working for the Fredericksburg’s 2016th Task Force and with the Kerrville Police Department, Danny went on to be the Chief of Security at Schreiner University, as well as running the company with his father, Daniel.
James Bowlin is a native of Kerrville, graduating from Tivy High School in 1988. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran, who worked as an Air Control Electronics Operator and served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Upon leaving the Marines, he attended Southwest Texas State University, majoring in Criminal Justice, and attended the Police Academy in College Station, Texas, at TEEX. After graduation, he began his career with the Kerr County Sheriff’s Department and moved to the Kerrville Police Department in 2000. While a KPD Officer, he was a Background Investigator, Crisis Negotiator, Field Training Officer, K-9 Handler, SOU Operator, and Sergeant, supervising a patrol shift until retirement in December of 2017.
James and Amy met in College Station, Texas – They got married in 1998 and have one daughter. Both James and Amy work full-time for J. Bowlin Security, providing trustworthy and reliable protection to the community.
