Jackdaw’s founding members, Artistic Director Bethan Dear, Designer Holly Seager and Producer Amy Clamp, first met at Middlesex University whilst working on an international youth and community theatre project in Uganda. During this time they discovered an exciting and dynamic working relationship which became the foundation for their work as a company. Working project to project on anything which excites and inspires them, Jackdaw create varied work which always strives to be relevant now.
As a company their work to date has included site specific theatre, British & international new writing, devised productions, festival commissions, youth theatre projects and revivals of classic texts. Passionate about making imaginative, playful, creative theatre which challenges the company’s process and practice, each production is individual and unique. Striving to create theatre which is accessible and relevant to a local, national and international audience is at the heart of Jackdaw’s work.
