This Academy was established in 1955 at Lucknow as a Training Centre for five Zonal Railways and was named as Jagjivan Ram RPF Training Centre in 1960 which was headed by a Security Officer designated as the Principal. In 1969 initial training of directly appointed Assisstant Security Officer Group B through UPSC Civil Services Examination started along with Sub-Inspectors of all Zonal Railways. The first batch of directly recruited Group B officers passed out from this Academy in the year 1970.
