I’m a freelance commercial lawyer focusing on media/entertainment, IP and data protection law and more recently on AI. I work with everyone from the C-Suite, GCs, Heads of Legal/Business Affairs, in-house lawyers, other senior stakeholders and operational teams and with businesses of all sizes to provide flexible, experienced legal support. I advise on legal and business affairs matters relating to the development, creation and exploitation of intellectual property of all descriptions including audio-visual content, music, newspaper, book and magazine publishing as well as advertising, marketing, e-commerce, sponsorship and social media. I also advise on all aspects of data protection and increasingly on the procurement, deployment, governance and regulation of AI. I’ve driven legal operations in businesses, from introducing new legal processes and procedures, designing playbooks and helping to implement legal tech. I know that being an in-house lawyer for media/entertainment businesses isn’t just about media and entertainment contracts though. If there’s another contract that needs doing anywhere in the business, I will have done it! I can work in whatever way works best for you, whether that is ad hoc advice/overflow work, a placement, fractional or interim role, contract support, or helping to deliver an internal project.
