Jane Becker, founder of JB Jewels, is a talented jewelry designer and gemologist. She specializes in transforming heirloom pieces of jewelry into customized works of art that fit her clients’ taste and lifestyle. Drawing on more than 35 years of experience in the fine jewelry industry, Jane has developed her own signature process for creating beautiful, wearable jewelry.
Jane specializes in redesigning gold, platinum, diamonds, and gemstones. She appraises each piece of jewelry and starts by creating sketches of what the client would like and will lovingly wear.
“My process is very unique,” Jane explains, “I’ve been told repeatedly that no one else is that personal in their work.” Jane takes pride in her distinctive talent for recreating jewelry into artwork for the 21st Century.
Jane has years of sales experience with well known retailers such as Barney’s, H. Stern, and Bloomingdale’s. In addition, she spent time in prestigious firms in Manhattan’s diamond district as a diamond and colored stone buyer, where she learned the manufacturing side of the industry.
Because of Jane’s training at the Gemological Institute of America, she is uniquely qualified to appraise estates. She continues to work with estate managers, trust and estate attorneys, and heirs to estates to appraise their fine jewelry. If need be, Jane can further assist to sell the jewelry from these estates for the highest dollar value.
Jane insists that the greatest reward in her work comes when she makes customers smile by helping restore an heirloom or when she finds an engaged couple the perfect diamond ring – resulting in tears of joy. Jane Becker’s guarantee: if any jewelry is not something she herself would wear, Jane will not sell or deliver it to her clients.
