The Jefferson County Criminal District Attorney’s Office is located approximately 75 miles from downtown Houston. We have two staffed offices located in Beaumont and Port Arthur. We are an office of over thirty prosecutors with an excellent support staff of skilled secretaries, paralegals, clerks, and investigators. We offer big city services with small town courtesies and have quick access to beaches, prime hunting and fishing locations, and we are home to Lamar University. Unique opportunities exist for our dynamic team of prosecutors as we have a joint task force with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the opportunity to cross-designate as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and prosecute cases in federal court is possible.
Our office has the responsibility to represent the State and its victims in all criminal matters. These crimes range from Class C Misdemeanors to Capital Felonies. Additionally, we provide legal services to county officials; county contractual services, and represents the county in civil lawsuits.
