The Japan Institute for Health Security (JIHS; 国立健康危機管理研究機構), established in April 2025, is a new statutory public health agency formed through the merger of two major government organizations: the National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) and the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), Japan. It aims to become a world-leading technical and research institute for infectious disease control and health emergency preparedness/response.
