Jubilee Kitchen Company Profile, Contacts & Intelligence
Jubilee Kitchen Overview
The Jubilee Association is comprised of the Jubilee Soup Kitchen and Community Center and the John Heinz Child Development Center in the Hill District neighborhood in Pittsburgh and the Jubilee Food Pantry in Polish Hill. Our mission is to help improve the lives of our guests and students, in a safe and caring environment. The Kitchen provides three meals a day 365 days a year. We also provide other personal hygiene supplies, restroom facilities, showers, clothing room, jobs center, transportation assistance, and counseling services. Our Preventing homelessness program identifies resources to help those in need overcome obstacles that threaten eviction, utility shut off, bad credit, or other financial obligations. We provide money-management coaching including the review of the applicants financial standing, budgeting, and identifying sources of supplemental income that can help with achieving financial independence. We work with landlords to help clients negotiate retaining their residence. We also provide one-time cash assistance to help address immediate cash flow shortfalls. The Jubilee Food Bank serves guests both on site as well as deliveries to shut ins. In addition to the food delivery, many of the shut-ins appreciate the visit from staff and volunteers. It is also an opportunity for those delivering food to assess any changes in the well-being of those served and alert the appropriate agency when necessary. The John Heinz Child Development Center provides high quality childcare to children from low income homes and supports these children throughout their educational journey at an affordable price. The Center has a four star rating from Southwestern Keystone Stars Program, the highest rating possible. We also offer a tuition rate that is entirely based on the ability of the parents to pay.
