There is science behind a surprise. Yes, science!
When a person is surprised they freeze for 1/25 of a second. The brain is then triggered to generate extreme curiosity in an attempt to figure out what’s happening. The next thing to happen is a mind shift! Surprises make you examine the way you think about things. If you’re surprised by positive fun things you will experience joy and happiness more intensely than you would without a surprise. I can’t even begin to tell you all the wonderful benefits of feeling joy and happiness this intensely, let me just say it does the body good. It helps people adjust to every day surprises more, whether they are bad or good, if surprises are engineered often and then embraced by the recipient.
I believe that when you experience mystery, surprise, connection, joy, fun, and relaxation all while being catered to and not having to sweat the details, you find yourself in a beautiful state where creativity flows, “unsolvable problems” are solved, soul is restored, and connection to your spirit and passion are ignited.
