K&T is an innovation based company working primarily in the field of Natural Fibers, Advance textiles and composites, Handicrafts & Handloom with the sole objective of making Indian textile sector more competitive in the global market through scientific solutions, technology and people. Current Ongoing Research Projects: 1. Development of Advance Textiles(3d) and their applications. A project of National Priority for the development of Technical Textile Sector in County. IITD along with 4 other international technology institute are working on this project with support from ministry of textiles. A joint venture project of K&T and HVR Group. 2. Advance machinery development project with IIT Delhi on; a) 3D Looms: Machinery for producing 3d circular, knitted, braided weave using manmade fibers like carbon, metal etc. b) Automated textile inspection machine with image sensing technology from Israel c) Single Needle Lock Stitch Machine with green technology for Indian Garment manufacturing markets. 3. Lean Manufacturing Cluster with 50 garment manufacturing units across Ludhiana, Tirupur and Bengaluru for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. 4. Revival of Handloom and Handicrafts sector and framework improvement Pan India for improving the overall technical, design and infrastructural setup, and by providing real time data generation with internet and hardware connectivity, which would eventually be able to meet the discerning and changing market demands both at domestic and at the international level and raise living standards of the millions of weavers engaged in the handloom industry. 5. Pan India cluster development program for the largest retail oriented global brand to strengthen its current supply chain of their clusters by providing sustainable technological and structural solutions. 6. 12 Lean manufacturing cluster of different industry sectors of Himachal Pradesh concerning MSME industries to increase productivity by introducing technical interventions.
