Kääntäjämestari Overview

Joukko kokeneita kääntäjiä ja tulkkeja yhdisti voimansa ja laati aloitteleville kääntäjille ja tulkeille sekä alaa opiskeleville käytännön oppaan, joka julkaisiin verkossa Kääntäjämestarin kirjana. Oppaassa paljon nähneet käännös- ja tulkkausalan ammattilaiset antavat kaunistelematta mutta rakentavassa ja rohkaisevassa hengessä konkreettisia vinkkejä alalla pärjäämiseen. Kirjaprojekti jalostui yhdistystoiminnaksi, jonka yksi osa on uuden Terässä-tapahtuman eli kääntäjien ja tulkkien ammattipäivän järjestäminen. Ensimmäisen kerran Terässä ollaan 5.2.2021. *** A group of experienced Finnish translators and interpreters joined forces to compile a practical guidebook for translation and interpreting students and beginners. Their professional advice was collected into a virtual project, which ultimately led to the creation of a website, The Translator's Guide to the Industry (English version accessible on our website). In the Guide, a handful of professionals, who have seen it all, share their practical advice and survival tips in a positive and encouraging tone. The book project was followed by the founding of an association named "Master of Translation", Kääntäjämestari, which will host a professional seminar for translators and interpreters on an annual basis and organize other related skill-building activities.
