KABAN is a West Papuan Eco-Feminist and membership-based organisation, KABAN ensure that the voices of West Papua Feminist are amplified, and that our needs and aspirations are prioritized in key policy dialogues and outcomes for climate justice movement. Since inception in 2020, KABAN has strategically positioned herself as a convenor, organizer and facilitator on dialogues around critical issues of gender and climate, KABAN continues to be intentional in influencing decisions made at national, regional and global levels, constantly ensuring women voices are amplified and their needs, priorities and aspirations are prioritized in key policy dialogues and outcomes that have direct and indirect impact on their lives. KABAN practices inclusion and anti-racism, while working to dismantle white supremacy and privilege towards the decolonization of movement spaces. We center the leadership of local and Indigenous women, non-binary and gender-non-conforming people, women with disabilities, queer feminists, and young feminists and activists, across all work to ensure more just futures for generations to come. In the face of the escalating climate crisis, and the devastating impacts of environmental and social degradation on the earth and our diverse communities – the voices, actions, solutions, and leadership of global women on the frontlines of climate change must be recognized.
