Kagisano Educational and Youth Development Foundation (known as Kagisano Foundation) is a South African based non-profit organisation that is based in Gauteng. The organization was founded in 2015 by Koketso Lediga, a female lawyer, with the mission of empowering learners from townships in South Africa to ensure that they have a bright future.
Kagisano Foundation's current mission is to empower learners from townships in South Africa through (i) the provision of educational tools and resources; (ii) the improvement of reading and computer skills; (iii) the promotion of a culture of reading for leisure; (iv) and ultimately to increase the literacy rate in South African learners.
The name Kagisano means “to build each other”, and we are committed to living up to the name.
