Our brand name, "Kahō," merges the Hindi word "kaho" (to speak or express) and the Japanese word "花宝" (flower treasure), symbolizing the preciousness of our craft and the stories we tell through our clothing. Nielesh grew up surrounded by the sights, sounds, and textures of this traditional craft. His grandfather and late great-grandfather were the custodians of this heritage, and Nielesh spent countless hours watching them work—mixing dyes, pressing blocks, and creating stunning prints that carried stories of their culture and craftsmanship. From a young age, he was captivated by the beauty and precision of this art, and it instilled in him a profound respect for the craft and the artisans behind it. Inspired by the dedication and artistry he witnessed throughout his life, Nielesh envisioned taking this traditional business to new heights. With a deep-rooted passion for hand block printing, he decided to take the family business online, making it accessible to a global audience.
