Our roots trace back to the 1940s, when our great-grandfather started this business in Akola of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. Our brand name, "Kahō," merges the Hindi word "kaho" (to speak or express) and the Japanese word "花宝" (flower treasure), symbolizing the preciousness of our craft and the stories we tell through our clothing.
Nielesh grew up surrounded by the sights, sounds, and textures of this traditional craft. His grandfather and late great-grandfather were the custodians of this heritage, and Nielesh spent countless hours watching them work—mixing dyes, pressing blocks, and creating stunning prints that carried stories of their culture and craftsmanship. From a young age, he was captivated by the beauty and precision of this art, and it instilled in him a profound respect for the craft and the artisans behind it.
