Kairos Biosciences is developing a product that will allow simple and cost-effective detection of respiratory fluids on contaminated surfaces.
Respiratory droplets can be carriers of respiratory viruses (e.g. COVID-19) and other airways pathogens. They are an important mode of disease transmission. Effective cleaning of contaminated surfaces is essential in disease control. An essential factor in effective cleaning is knowing where and when to clean. However, respiratory droplets on surfaces are very difficult to see. Current hygiene monitoring methods do not provide quick, specific, and inexpensive results.
Our product will allow simple and easy visualization of respiratory droplets on objects and surfaces in everyday surroundings (e.g. floors, countertops, toilets, etc.).
There is an urgent need for a test method that will allow the detection of respiratory droplets in a simple, fast and cost-effective way, primarily in healthcare, but also in food, transportation and hospitality industries.
