Karavan is using blockchain technology to improve the lives of refugees around the globe.
67 million people around the world have been forcibly displaced from their homes. Only 1% of them have work permits that allow them to earn money in the places they live. The vast majority are forced into poverty, despite having monetizable skills and a willingness to work.
To address this problem, Karvan is creating a decentralised non-monetary economic system using the single commodity distributed most equitably in the world - time. Users create profiles on our mobile app marketplace, detailing the skills and services they would like to offer. When another user searches
for these services (e.g., Arabic lessons, legal assistance), they are matched with those providing them - either online or in person. Contributors earn points per hour of service, which they can then use to purchase services from other users.
