Keren Ezer L`Nefesh is a not-for-profit organization that helps schools throughout the U.S. & Israel, facilitate treatment for students struggling with mental health challenges by providing financial assistance. Typically, we are contacted by the school faculty that have become aware of a student who is suffering from a mental health issue and both the school & family do not have the financial resources to afford quality mental health care.
Unfortunately, mental and emotional health deficiencies have become quite prevalent in today`s society and are having a remarkably negative impact on our children`s quality of life & their ability to cope with life`s challenges. Many of these children go on to become dysfunctional adults in our community, leading to a snowballing effect of dysfunctional homes. This has been shown to be at the forefront of many costly and painful problems such as youth at risk, marital strife (many times leading to divorce), poverty, addictions and even suicide.
Thankfully, great strides have been made in community awareness of mental health issues and their impact on our children, families and generations. Our community has produced many top-of-the-line mental health professionals that are keenly aware of our community`s prevalent issues & distinct cultural needs. In addition, much advancement has been made in the methodologies of psychology & psychiatry to a point where they have become effective and efficient. Almost all sufferers who have access to quality mental health services have greatly improved quality of life and functional development.
The only thing standing in the way of many children and teenagers to lead healthy productive lives is affordability.
Ezer L`Nefesh was created to address this need before this burden gets passed on to the next generation, which would be painfully devastating to our community socially, spiritually and financially.
