We all know healthy eating is on the rise. There are now 1.2m vegetarians in the UK & 3.5 times more vegans than 10 years ago. 20% of people aged between 16-24yrs are now vegetarian. There’s been a 12.6% in sales of gluten free products. The ‘free from’ market is expected to be worth £550m by 2019. UK consumers spent £3.3bn on bagged snacks last year, 30pc higher than in 2010, driven by a 35pc growth over the five-year period to £1.6bn spent on alternative snacks. In comparison purchases of potato crisps and savoury nuts increased by 26pc
each to £1.4bn and £269m respectively.
