The Residence commenced in 1962 on a not-for-profit basis. It was established and is actively supported by the Kew Baptist Church (kewbaptist.org.au.). It provides a home based on Christian values that are inclusive, authentic and meaningful, based on a disposition of care and service.
It aims to provide a supportive community environment for young adults moving to Melbourne to undertake tertiary studies at a number of universities and colleges, including Swinburne, RMIT, Deakin, Latrobe and Australian Catholic University. KSR can accommodate up to 50 students, in twin-share accommodation.
KSR is a place that allows everyone to positively contribute to community life, and to belong, explore and grow. It is also a place where lasting friendships are made.
