Khameleon Kompany was created from a passion to provide drama and dance training for children of all abilities to increase confidence and self esteem and introduce theatre to those who may not ordinarily have access to it. Assisted by funding (ie; rise to the top grant) as well as parental allowance and pupil premium funding, we work in schools with children to increase confidence, self esteem and imagination to aid academic learning. We do this as cover during PPA time, alongside teachers to enhance literacy and creative writing, or in small group of pupil premium children to work on specific skills, such as public speaking. We also run after school and weekend clubs in street dance, drama classes and musical theatre classes. What do we do? We work with your children to create an original piece, the Khameleon Kompany teachers will work with the class to gather ideas and then write up a script or create a dance. Depending on the children this may be done with them or without, but they always have final say. Why do we do this? Children need to feel that the world values their ideas. This builds a trust in their creative ability and ultimately grows their confidence, but in addition this ownership in a show means all the children have a true sense of achievement. Benchmarking and Progress Khameleon Kompany are unique in their offering as we benchmark and map all children's progress throughout their time with us. We do this in collaboration with school and parents and this helps the team around the child greatly in supporting the child as an individual. It also helps show progress when pitching for funding for schools or with Ofsted scores. Khameleon Kompany started in 2012 and has since worked in many schools and many communities serving hundreds of children. We are DBS checked and have PLI.
