KI Energy, LLC. is a subsidiary of Knikatnu, Inc., an Alaska Native Corporation based in the Mat-Su Valley.
Alaska has the highest energy costs in the continental United States. KI Energy’s goal is to lower those costs by bringing Combined Heat and Power ( CHP) systems and energy storage to all of Alaska.
CHP systems allow a building owner to use the natural gas currently used for heat and hot water to also generate electricity, reducing costs and increasing the efficiency of their energy systems. Combined with energy storage, the cost of electricity and heat can be reduced in excess of 40%. Additionally, having onsite generation provides resiliency in the event of power outages.
