KARA (Kids at Risk Action) is a non-profit action tank that supports the people, policies, and programs that improve the lives of at-risk children. We are passionate and unapologetic advocates for the welfare of abused and neglected children and act as a passionate and unapologetic voice for at risk children in Minnesota, the United States, and around the world.
KARA was created in 2001 by CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer Guardian Ad Litems Mike Tikkanen and David Strand to initiate community conversations and engage people and organizations in discussions and action around the problems facing traumatized, neglected and abused children in Minnesota.
KARA speaks for at abused and neglected children and is building support for volunteerism and collaboration with those people and organizations engaged in improving the lives of these at-risk children.
It is our mission to support the people, programs and policies that improve the lives of abused and neglected children.
