About Kilroy Architectural Windows, Inc.
Kilroy Architectural Windows Inc (Kilroy) continues a 78-year tradition of upgrading windows in New York and have replaced windows in several of New York City’s most iconic buildings, including the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. In addition to the full window replacement and repair, Kilroy installs interior secondary window systems. A new solution for increased building envelope efficiency, these systems add insulating “panels” to the inside of the existing opening, which increases efficiency without the need for disruptive total replacement of the window. The NY Department of Buildings does not require a permit for the installation of our systems. Kilroy is uniquely positioned to increase window efficiency by using interior secondary systems for all window types: fixed/punched, double hung, horizontal slider, 2-track, 2-sash/3-sash, and custom shapes. We are system-agnostic and will find the best solution for each opening. Kilroy uses a holistic approach and collaborates with the facility’s HVAC contractor to ensure all equipment is sized properly based on a more efficient building envelope. Kilroy is registered as a Con Edison Participating Contractor and NYC Accelerator Service Provider and can assist facilities with processing/earning incentives, applying for federal tax credits, and Local Law 97 fine avoidance planning. We are familiar with electrification initiatives and heat pump/building envelope combination incentives and believe that building envelope upgrades should be a priority: all other energy improvement measures (lighting, HVAC, controls, etc.) never reach maximum efficiency if the building envelope/windows are inefficient. Interior Secondary Systems are approved and promoted by the US Department of Energy (reports available upon request).
