Kiptapkei Environmental CBO is an initiative by the Kiptapkei people of Africa to plant indigenous trees on riparian land, along water bodies, springs, streams, small rivers, big rivers, swamps, and on public utilities within Nandi County and beyond. As these native trees reach maturity, they will increase the amount of forest cover, restoring habitats for our totem (vervet monkey) and other animal species. Additionally, conserve biodiversity, improve ecosystems, mitigate and adapt to climate change, and protect native trees from extinction.
Kiptapkei Environmental CBO indigenous trees program is in line with the president’s initiative to plant 15 Billion trees by 2032. We have a goal to plant 30 Million indigenous trees within 6 sub-counties in Nandi County and extend the program to other counties by 2028.
We are not only changing lives, we are creating a legacy for future generations!!
