"Parkinson’s disease is the fastest growing neurological disease in the US. Although progress is being made in the search for a cure, people need help fighting the effects every single day. This need is the inspiration behind the Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson’s." - Kirk Gibson The Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson’s Wellness understands the importance of exercise and movement in managing symptoms and potentially slowing the progression of the disease. It provides funding for activity-based programs and therapies that improve the quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s. The Foundation will open the Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson's Wellness in Farmington Hills, Michigan in mid-2025. This state-of-the-art Center will provide FREE programming for people with Parkinson's and support for their care partners. (See anticipated activities listed below.) An estimated 8,000 people with Parkinson's live within 30 minutes of the Center in Michigan. kirkgibsoncenter.org 60+ volunteers will be needed to help the Center's professional staff and professional coaches with daily operations at the front desk and as volunteer coaches assisting in classes. Expertise is not necessary. Volunteer at kirkgibsonfoundation.org "Moving Mountains for Parkinson's" - an inspirational team from the Foundation will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in August 2025 to raise funds and awareness.
