Knauf Gypsum Tanzania Ltd has been shaping Tanzania’s construction landscape since 2015. With over TZS 268 billion invested between 2015 and 2025, we’ve built state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Kisemvule, Mkuranga driven by Knauf’s core values of Menschlichkeit (humanity), partnership, commitment, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Our integrated operations include:
• A plasterboard plant, producing regular, moisture-resistant, and fire-resistant boards
• A plasters plant, offering premium interior and exterior skimming and jointing plasters
• A metal profiles plant, manufacturing ceiling and partitioning systems
Since November 2020, our journey has been one of growth and innovation. By mid-2025, our plasterboard capacity will increase from 18 million m² to 43 million m² annually, positioning us as Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest plasterboard producer.
Our products meet both Tanzanian (TZS 1193) and European (EN 520) standards, ensuring world-class quality at competitive prices for our customers.
As a regional powerhouse, we supply Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC, Zambia, and Malawi - supporting the development of modern building systems across East, Central and Southern Africa.
Our Training Centre in Dar es Salaam equips professionals with hands-on knowledge in drywall technology, demonstrating our commitment to capacity building, local empowerment, and long-term industry development.
