We are a research and public involvement and engagement consultancy co-founded by three population health and epidemiology academics and UCL Alumni: Dr Aradhna Kaushal, Dr Fran Harkness and Dr Jo Blodgett in 2020.
We launched Kohlrabi with three aims:
• to make high quality rigorous academic research accessible, useful and empowering for non-academic organisations and the public
• to extend the ladder to other early - mid career researchers who want to explore life out of full-time academia and fulfil themselves professionally
• to leave the world a better place through choosing projects and partners driven by the shared aim to improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities
Our team of 10 mixed-method researchers form successful partnerships between academics and the public sector, charity and industry, such as the NHS, Macmillan, Crohn’s & Colitis UK, NIHR, the UK government. As well as our ongoing research projects we offer training courses for early -mid career researchers, together with mentorship, work experience and sub-contractor opportunities.
