Kotor Kitties is a non-profit, volunteer run charity formed in 2018 to help Kotor and other communities throughout Montenegro humanely reduce their overpopulation of community cats through spaying and neutering.
Kotor Kitties unites the concern of tourists, the skill of local veterinarians, and the compassion of local people to provide a humane solution for the community animals: Montenegro’s first sterilisation program of high quality-high volume spaying and neutering. Our project includes Montenegro’s first Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) project for cats; the most effective technique to tackle overpopulation of cats and dogs in a community. This only helps cut the overall population of animals, but prevents the health problems of overbreeding and the hormone-related behavioral problems associated with unsterilised animals.
