Great-tasting barramundi start off by living in the ocean, it’s natural habitat, and we make sure that home is cleaner, healthier and safer. At Kühlbarra, our fish enclosures are purposefully located in strong currents that keep the fish swimming in clean waters. The water is tested regularly thus assuring clean waters and clean fish and a healthy coral reef just 200 hundred meters away.
Mr. Joep Kleine Staarman — Kühlbarra’s Managing Director — oversees the enclosures, the sustainable food that is fed to the barramundi and the testing of our fish and the waters. Mr. Staarman has a degree in biology and a masters in Aquaculture so yeah he is passionate about the balance between food production and our oceans.
