The Lab of Mining and Environmental Technology (LMET) was established in 1983 within the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). LMET has an extensive experience of more than 20 years in environmental and energy economics, environmental management, financial and cost benefit analysis, and risk assessment and management among other issues. During the last years, a significant part of its research activity focuses on circular economy practices that are closely linked with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both at national and international level. LMET has been involved in more than 70 research projects funded by both the private and public sector, along with research programs funded by the EC. Currently, LMET has 4 permanent full-time academic staff, 2 post-doc researchers, and several Ph.D. and M.Sc. students who act research assistants.
