Dr. Dorrin Nilforoushan completed her dental training at the University of Toronto with Honors. Her deep interest in Orthodontics, along with her strong academic background, helped her achieve a place in the respected five year Ph.D. program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (University of Toronto). All this was achieved before she had finished her dental degree. Dr. Nilforoushan is proud and humbled to be one of the few orthodontists in Ontario who has obtained a Ph.D. degree.
During her training, Dr. Nilforoushan has also been honoured with several outstanding awards. These include the national Doctoral Research Award from Canadian Institute of Health Research. She has many publications in international journals and has done presentations in scientific meetings.
Dr. Nilforushan’s clinical training was shaped by her continuous exposure to different aspects of patient needs and through her dentistry oriented family; including her father, mother and husband.
In addition, Dr. Nilforouhsan is currently involved with the Department of Orthodontics and the Dental Research Institute at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. She aims to introduce new and enhanced methods of tooth movement in Orthodontics.
In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Nilforouhsan is blessed to be the mother of three kids, twin daughters and a son.
She is a fellow of Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a member of Canadian Association of Orthodontics, Ontario Dental Association and is a certified Invisalign provider.
