LCOY is an event under the umbrella of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of UNFCCC serving as an antecedent of COY organized at national and sub-national levels. It aims to be a space to boost youth climate action locally and create an input for the international UNFCCC Conference of Youth.
The United Youth Initiative for Africa will host LCOY 2024 as part of the global movement of youth climate conferences in the run-up to COY20 and COP30. LCOY Ghana is the biggest gathering of youth climate groups and relevant stakeholders, to collaborate, co-create Ghana’s National Youth Climate Statement (NYCS) and of the lunch of the Ghana Youth Climate Action Roadmap (GYCAR) by exploring other climate themes and problems and will feed into the Global Youth Statement
