The concept for Le Bouchonnet was conceived during our gastronomic journey through France and Spain in September 2023. As we indulged in the finest wines and culinary delights from the Gironde region to the southern coast and into the vibrant landscapes of Spain, we became enamored with the unique customs and experiences that accompanied each meal. One particular tradition that captured our hearts was the Spanish practice of leaving the wine cork on the table, allowing us to inspect, smell, and keep it as a cherished souvenir.
This simple yet profound ritual became an integral part of our wine experience. Upon returning to Burgundy, the final and perhaps most indulgent stage of our journey, we found ourselves yearning for this tradition. We realized that the cork deserved its own place at the table, a dedicated piece of crockery that would highlight its beauty and uniqueness.
Thus, Bouchonnet was born. Our mission is to elevate the wine experience by celebrating the cork as a vital element of wine appreciation.
