Leading Water Forward started in 2011 with four women passionate about creating meaningful learning opportunities for the women who manage, develop and protect our water resources. The group had its roots as a committee within the Pacific Northwest Section American Water Works Association and was created as an independent non-profit organization, Women Leading Water, in 2016. The organization reincorporated under the new name and a broader mission in 2022, with a commitment to look beyond women to inclusion of BIPOC, LGBTQIA and other groups that are underrepresented in the water industry. We currently hold events in the Portland, Oregon area, including our annual Women in Leadership Symposium. Check the Events page on our website for details, to register, and come say hello.
