At Learning Home Volunteers, we are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their economic background, has the opportunity to excel in school. Data shows that kindergarten readiness is the number one indicator of future academic success. Unfortunately, many children from low-income families start kindergarten 18 to 24 months behind their peers, making it difficult to catch up.
We partner with underserved families, focusing on children aged 2 to 5, to prepare them for kindergarten. Our mission is to equip these young learners with the same opportunities for success as their more privileged peers.
We work hand-in-hand with the child's first—and longest-lasting—teachers: their parents. Through our dynamic training, we empower families by revealing the transformative power of play and helping them embrace their roles as educators. We provide them with books and open-ended learning materials and connect them with our dedicated staff, educators, and other families who are on the same path to success.
