Good writing requires translating complex issues into clear explanations that your audience can grasp. Professor Leslie Burton developed Legal Writing LAB to guide legal and other professionals to excel at writing clear, persuasive documents.
As a law clerk, a deputy district attorney, and a litigator, Professor Burton wrote and edited appellate and trial briefs, countless memoranda of points and authority, law review articles, and many other types of writing. In addition to serving as a judge on national legal writing competitions, she spent 20 years as a Professor of Legal Writing, Fulbright Scholar, and DAAD Fellow in the USA, Czech Republic, Germany, and Turkey.
Legal Writing LAB teaches the fundamentals of clear, accurate, and persuasive writing. And the same principles that apply to legal writing apply to other types of writing. Therefore, Legal Writing LAB also worked with clients focused on corporate writing, technical writing, and even law school applications.
