LEMIEL, von zwei Studenten gegründet, schlägt eine neue Richtung ein, um die Umwelt zu schützen: "Und wenn es umweltfreundlich wäre, verdammt gut auszusehen?" LEMIEL verwendet wiederverwertbare Materialien, bis hin zur Verpackung. Sogar die Gebrauchsempfehlung ist auf recyclebarem Papier gedruckt. Die qualitativ hochwertige Verarbeitung hat einen kleineren CO2-Fußabdruck zur Folge, und sorgt dafür, dass die Brille länger hält. Bei jeder verkauften Brille ersetzt LEMIEL das Holz und pflanzt einen Baum. Wie der Honig einer Biene (auf französisch: le miel) ist unsere Umwelt ein vergängliches Kleinod. Zusammen jedoch können wir etwas bewirken.
