Electrical Prevention Enterprise (LEPRENT) is established on 2017 in Saudi Arabia to provide highly accredited services for equipment & installations used in explosive atmospheres (Ex) in order to maintain the required level of safety.
Ex equipment & installations are controlled by the international standards such as IEC 60079 family and ATEX directives. These standards highlight the required competence for the followings:
1. Conducting hazardous area classification and related engineering studies.
2. Ex design, selection, erection and initial inspection.
3. Routine inspection, maintenance, repair, overhaul and reclamation.
Personal competence of large company is normally evaluated using internal procedures but the personal competence of contractors (engineering, erection, inspection, etc.) cannot be easily assessed.
Therefore, IECEX has developed a scheme for certification of personnel competence to ensure the required level of competency. In addition, another scheme for certification of service providers has been developed to cover engineering, inspection & maintenance services.
