Lewes Athletic Club Overview

Formed in March 1984 the Club has grown steadily in numbers and stature and has a nucleus of qualified coaches. Membership is open to male and female athletes from 9 years of age to senior and veterans of any age. Club members have free access to the all weather 400metre track on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday morning club sessions. Events and activities we run include cross country running, track and field events, leagues and championships, road running, fun running, jogging, seniors and veterans training and coaching, young athlete’s training and coaching, and a range of social events. The club encourages and expects club members to compete for the club. As the club continues to have a long waiting list for youngsters to join the club those young athletes who are already members of the club but who are not prepared to compete for the club may be asked to leave the club. Regular events put on by Lewes AC include 10K and two mile fun runs on Easter Monday, a long weekend of running in France with our twinned club at Marolles just outside Blois, The club also arranges a club triathlon and barbecue in June, an aquathlon in the summer and 10 mile, 5 mile Sussex Downland runs in October and a cross country event early in the year.
