Lingua Istanbul Overview

The Lingua Istanbul team is composed of teachers with years of experience teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Before joining our team, our teachers have gained years of valuable experience supporting learners of various ages, nationalities and education levels. We then started to focus on teaching Turkish to serve the growing population of guest workers in Istanbul. The majority of our students are expatriates who have busy work schedules and are barely able to find time to come to classes. This constraint is undoubtedly our main obstacle. We really don’t want our students to waste their limited and valuable time in the unbearable traffic of Istanbul. For this reason, we schedule our classes individually and we take our class to the students. We offer lessons wherever students prefer, whether at home or in the office. For those who need to escape from the pressures of business life and take a breath of fresh air, we can also schedule classes in restaurants, cafés or parks. Instead of English or other foreign languages, our teachers are careful to use Turkish as the language of instruction whenever possible. This is an advantage for students who do not speak English as their first language and sometimes find themselves lost in traditional Turkish language classes. It is also an advantage for English-speakers, as it increases exposure to Turkish and decreases reliance on translating back to English. All of our teachers are qualified and experienced teachers of Turkish as a foreign language. They are all university graduates; and are certified to teach Turkish as a foreign language.
