Live By Living is a 501(c)(3) that connects cancer survivors with nature and one another through walks in the park, hikes, and weekend retreats. Since 2009, we have served over 1,200 people on retreats and thousands more on walks and hikes. Our Cancer to 14K conditioning program prepares survivors and caregivers to climb a 14,000' mountain or reach other 14K goals, like a 14,000 step hike (about 5.5 miles). Live By Living is based in Colorado, and has affiliates in Illinois and Iowa.
Exercise has been proven to help cancer survivors live longer (at least for breast cancer and colon cancer), and and to reduce depression and anxiety among survivors and others. Live By Living combines the proven benefits of exercise with the solace of store and the support and camaraderie of being with others who understand the journey to help survivors and caregivers meet the emotional, psychological and physical challenges that a cancer diagnosis and treatment present.
