Live Music Mapping Project (LMMP) is a research initiative focused on exploring the live music ecosystem in cities and regions across the globe. Our aim is to provide insights into the impact of various factors such as Brexit, Covid-19 and cultural recovery on the live music industry. We started in Birmingham, UK.
We have also published various publications and blog entries on topics related to the impact of different factors on the live music ecosystems. These include the Birmingham and Culture Recovery Fund, Birmingham’s Roadmap to live music, and Creative live music responses to Covid19 lockdown.
Our most recent works include the "The UK Live Music Industry in a post-2019 era: A Globalised Local Perspective" Report 2022 and the "Live Music Ecologies in the UK – A local perspective in the context of the pandemic" Discussion Paper 2022/12. Both of these documents provide a comprehensive look at the challenges faced by stakeholders in the live music sector in recent years.
