Living After Crisis is where mental health and survivorship converge.
There are over 3.8 million women survivors of cancer in the US.
With these increasing survivor numbers, there are reported unmet supportive care needs, including psychological distress and deficits in physical functioning (Cancer.net 2023., Fan, Rongrong et al. BMC cancer vol. 23, 2023).
Our Mission:
Living After Crisis (LAC) is a designated 501c3 dedicated to fostering empowerment among women as they navigate the intersection of mental health and cancer survivorship. Our mission is to provide education, resources, and personalized support to facilitate women in their journey to thrive after experiencing the challenges of cancer.
LAC was born out of experience. My name is Vanessa; I am the founder of LAC, and I know from experience the devastation cancer brings and the fear of facing survivorship.
There is a ton of work that needs to be done in survivorship research, but as this happens, LAC hopes to address the critical need for mental health support for women survivors of cancer through coaching and educational resources.
There are gaps to fill!
Despite the 1.8 Million nonprofits in the US, few focus on mental health support for women.
LAC aims to bridge this gap by providing collaborative partnerships and innovative programming, creating spaces where women can trust the educational resources!
