About Comparative Heritage
The Comparative Heritage (CHERIT) project identifies, studies, and documents the invocation of the phenomenon of "heritage" as represented in various forms of social expressions: human behaviors, cultural beliefs, political actions or apathy. The expression of "heritage" may be observed also through various trends in modernity (modernization and globalization) producing categorizations of the phenomenon which the west has termed as "religion."
Vision
With the ultimate of creating communities and persons who reflectively think about the processes and productions of heritage economies, the vision of CHERIT is to create definable archives on "heritage."
Mission
Through research, collaborative partnerships, and creative publications, the CHERIT's mission is to provide opportunities and conversation channels for engaging materials from various sites of "heritage" productions.
