LLEAF (Luminescent Light Emitting Agricultural Film) is an agriculture deep-tech start-up company that began from Dr Alexander Soeriyadi and Dr Alexander Falber’s doctoral research studies in the University of New South Wales. During their research in 2017, they invented a greenhouse plastic film that shifts the wavelength of sunlight to the optimal wavelength for plant growth. By improving crop yield using the power of sunlight, they seek to feed the world of tomorrow. Trials conducted over 3 continents with LLEAF technology have shown promising yield increase ranging from 15-40%. Other than Australia, LLEAF has expanded overseas such as the US, Indonesia, Morocco, and Singapore. LLEAF has also been the finalist for food accelerator programmes such as SFA’s food bowl agri-food accelerator programme, UNDP’s Cultiv@te initiative, and the Top 20 Blue Tulip awards.
