Air Products is developing a clean energy complex that creates hydrogen with little to no emissions during production. The project accelerates the future of clean energy as well as the economic development of local communities.
Once operational, the facility will produce low-carbon hydrogen to power mobility and industrial markets in the Gulf Coast region and beyond. It also will capture and store more than 95% of its carbon dioxide emissions – 5 million tons per year – more than a mile deep underground. This process, called carbon capture and sequestration, uses safe and proven technology to keep excess carbon dioxide from staying in the atmosphere.
This $4.5 billion project is Air Products’ largest investment in the United States and will help Louisiana meet its long-term carbon reduction goals while supporting jobs in the local area.
